Knowing your Nerdic
Candidates seeking electronics sales jobs could benefit from brushing up on their Nerdic before going to an interview.
Nerdic - or geek speak - has officially become Europe's fastest growing language and could change the sales recruitment landscape for the foreseeable future, research by pixmania.com revealed.
According to Stuart Miles, editor of the gadget website Pocket-Lint.co.uk, Nerdic has "created a whole new way of communicating".
He said: "Everyone knows what it means to Google something, and technology is moving at such a rapid pace these days that there are more and more new words coming into the English language."
But with words such as HDMI (high definition multi-media interface) and DVB-H (digital video broadcasting) fast-becoming commonplace, electronic sales recruitment candidates would be well-advised to make Nerdic their new best friend.
Although it consists entirely of made up words, experts estimate around 100 additions are made to the total repertoire each year.
