Sales jobs: Govt invests in electronic companies
Labour is set to invest around £3 million in two software companies, boosting electronic sales jobs and supporting the sector, according to business secretary Lord Peter Mandelson.
The £3 million will be split between KeTech, which provides communication software and services to the rail industry, and Vamosa, which creates software to help governments analyse, monitor and maintain business content.
KeTech will receive £2 million from the Capital for Enterprise Fund, with Vamosa getting £1 million which will bolster sales jobs at the two electronic companies.
Lord Mandelson said: "Ambitious and innovative businesses like these are the lifeblood of the economy but tough credit conditions can make it difficult for them to invest in their future."
He added that the government is committed to ensuring that companies like KeTech and Vamosa have the funding they need to grow.
Siobhan Chapman, deputy editor at ComputerworldUK.com recently said that IT sales jobs need similar government support in order to bounce back during the recession.
